Fun Night of Classic Rock
Always have wanted to see Styx and REO in concert and Loverboy was a fun 80s hairband so I figured it would be a good night. But wait, there's more. Donnie Iris is from the greater Pittsburgh area so as an added bonus we got a short set from Donnie Iris to kick off the night and the crowd loved him. He was ok but not a bucketlist, must see act for me. Loverboy was next and they sounded great. Of course Mike Reno looks more like Dusty Rhodes these day, he can still hit the notes. Next up was REO and they did not disappoint. Even went into the archives and, in tribute to Gary Richrath, played Like You Do, recognized Neil as the only member of REO to have played on every album and on every tour and Bruce Hall took to the mic to sing lead on a song. Then Styx took the stage, which was my favorite of all of these bands. The first two songs were great and then they decided to do a song off the new album, the song Light Up and then another song off the new album. After that they went through the classics some more but I thought these songs were weak installments in what could have been a great set. Overall, great show. REO put on the best set and show, in my opinion, and I would definitely recommend.
